Welcome back and thanks for reading The Bottom Line! Today I’m going to talk about the PUCO’s sudden rescission of their new rules and what it means to you…
No you are not seeing things…the PUCO announced March 16th, 2011 that they are rescinding “administrative rules applying to private commercial motor vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds operating in intrastate commerce.”
As stated in my entry from February 1, 2011 the PUCO held “Listening Sessions” for anyone affected to attend. It seems that those sessions were pretty well attended and the PUCO did, in fact, listen! (This is my ‘told you so’ moment!)
Don’t jump for joy just yet, though. This rescission is a temporary 90-day period for the PUCO to file a report and analysis with recommendations for possible future rule amendments. The report is to take into account Governor Kasich’s Executive Order “Establishing the Common Sense Initiative” which accounts for the impact a rule has on small business.
Stay tuned for further updates!
